We have never doubted that Van Gerwan is possibly the most talented Dart player in his era, and by his third consecutive world championship win, he has further gone to prove us right—he is presently just being led by Phil Taylor who has won the title 16 times, Eric Bristow and Raymond Van Barneveld who has both won 5 times each.

Rob Cross Defend His World Title-- 2018
The opening night at Alexandria palace saw Rob Cross defend his world championship title with a startling 3-1 victory over Jeffery de Zwaan. The fiery world champion stepped into the tournament in mixed form 12 months on from stunning the world and faced indisputably the tougher of the second round ties.
It was easy for De Zwaan to cruise through the first set after beating Kumar 3-0 in the night, but trust Cross for he bounced right back into the tournament stylishly.
In spite of the pressure, it was so heartwarming to see the 28 year old push through replicating the scenario in which he beat Michael Van Gerwen and Phil Taylor sometime last year and averaged 103.66 to reach the third round.
